Tout comme dans les épaves, dans les ruines du barrage de Sounda, on trouve d’étranges habitants : Des Rousettus aegyptiacus appellées aussi Roussettes Egyptiennes ou Egyptian fruit bat, une des chauve-sourie les plus communes en afrique.
